Live Poll: "The Demolition Squad"

In contemporary (post-2020) cinema and television, a polarizing archetype has emerged: the "Demolition" protagonist. These characters are defined not by their competence or stoicism, but by unearned arrogance and weaponized trauma.

Unlike complex anti-heroes of the past who overcame their flaws to solve problems, this archetype often acts as a liability - creating chaos, refusing accountability, and demanding validation from the narrative without truly earning it. Instead of building the story, they demolish the stakes.

Which of these members of "The Demolition Squad" do you dislike the most?

Suggestions welcome!

  1. Characters from scripted, feature-length films that premiered 2020 or later;
  2. Characters from scripted TV Series or Mini-Series that aired original episodes in 2020 or later;
  3. Films and shows that are primarily or significantly comedic would probably not be good fits.

This is a fascinating idea. Unfortunately, I've only seen two of the titles in the list and I can't remember either character very well but I applaud the idea and the very good intro. I'm going to toss the concept around today and see if I can think of any characters who might fit it -- not just for the poll but because I'd like to see if I  understand the thesis in a concrete way.

Anyway, bravo!
