There are some others I would bring up for general discussion, but the one that stands out in my mind is a movie released within the last ten years that I wouldn't want to spoil.
Okay. Nevertheless, I was concerned that Parents wasn't a well-enough-known movie. I saw it within the last five years but hadn't ever even heard of it before.
From the title, I expected something about "relatable parents who behaved badly or who have a few things to learn about parenting", the McAllisters would be a perfect example not hopeless cases like Jack Torrance or Margaret White.
I mean if you put parents who abuse their children or have murder impulses, then the dysfunctional ones are saints in comparison. Maybe you should stick to those who "do their best but fail lamentably".
