Which of the actors or actresses listed below that got a second long lasting run on the tube do you think had the most successful second stint on TV?

(Note: Currently listed to a seven season or more stint on the second series. If unable to fill list with that criteria will lower to six season minimum on second series)

What would you consider long-running?

There's Bryan Cranston with Malcolm in the Middle and Breaking Bad (5-6 years each)

David Duchovny with X Files and Californication

Matthew Fox with Party of Five and Lost

Michael J. Fox with Family Ties and Spin City

@Peter_pbn

I for my part would consider TV-series with at least 10 seasons. I think that all TV-series shorter than 5 seasons wouldn't fit, if I had the idea. Half a decade isn't really long, but what's the measurement? That's a good question. And I guess that everyone has his/her own definition of time expansion. It would be good to define this issue in the criteria.

Yes, but it's about the definition of "long lasting" in each TV-series mentioned in the poll. How long has to be "long" for the suggestors? Everyone has her/his own definition of "long". With a stated criterion of how long "long" is, everyone can better think off examples.

@ACT_1@Peter_pbn @Breumaster Right now I'm only considering a non-soap series and that second series last at least 7 seasons. If I can't get enough to fill the list I may decrease the threshold to six seasons which would open up Michael J. Fox, and Bryan Cranston. I will add David Duchovony and Michael Landon from below.

Thank you both!

There aren't very many that make it past 5 seasons, AND are still funny. They tend to get silly as they spiral towards the inevitable shark jump

@mariojacobs Thanks, I've added them both. However with Carroll O'Conner since he played the same character in both series I combined them as the first title and made his second title In the Heat of the Night

Dick Van Dyke in Diagnosis Murder (8 seasons) after The Dick Van Dyke Show

@themoviesmith If you want to consider more options, maybe you can add the minimum series length to 8 seasons, or add some kind of parameter for the first series they appeared on.

@Pencho15 @ACT_1 I cleaned up the list which had once choice under seven seasons that got through and am adding Ron Howard. If I move the pre-requisite to eight seasons or add another parameter  for the first series the list will lose a lot of it's current entries.

Vloggers could reverse CBS's Rural Purge and sell their creation back to CBS for viewing during main time TV and compete with the garbage on the networks.  Let's take Petticoat Junction for instance.  That show is amazing.  Some of the actors are still alive.  If CBS would give a season (such as Season 1 in black and white) to a Vlogger they could recompile the show in HD, interview the actors still alive as an into to each episode and have the actors talk about the specifics of the episode, the living actors would still get paid, visit the graves of the deseased actors and tell their personal story and how their life fit into show and let people rate the show versus the garbage currently on network television.   The vlogger could also visit the building where the set used to be and let the living actors talk about the location of the set.  It would be so amazing that people would stop watching the garbage and enjoy reversing CBS's Rural purge, which should also a story within the story.
