This is my 38th poll to reach 5,000 votes.

I consider Empire to be a superior movie, but I had to vote for A New Hope. You can't have one without the other (and ANH is a great ride, in any case...).

Could have sworn I did this poll twice.....

For me, the best Star Wars films are, in this order: 1st A New Hope (1977); 2nd Empire Strikes Back (1980); 3rd The Last Jedi (sadly very underrated in the votes); 4th Return of the Jedi (1983); 5th The Force Awakens (2015); 6th Rogue One (2016); 7th Revenge of the Sith (2005); 8th Attack of the Clones (2002); and 9th The Phantom Menace (1999). I would put the animation films scattered around the 4th and the 9th places.
