Live Poll: Most Original Movie of the 2010s

In a decade full of sequels, remakes, reboots and other forms of reworking on pre-existing material, it's time to salute these 'standalone' movies that owned their success to their own creativity, inventiveness, an intelligent concept and a smart capability to transcend or subvert the usual cinematic tropes and be both emotionally and intellectually appealing... movies that prove that cinema can still surprise us.

So, which of these movies do you think is the most original of the 2010s?

Hi, ElMo. :D
You should make your list public.
I can't see anything.
Greetz.

P.S.: Btw - what about that?:

We didn't have the same kind of movies in mind... I meant movies that rely on original premises... most of them aren't dramas in the "restrictive" meaning of the word.
The list is public now.
Thanks.

Thank you. I'm glad that our ideas do not collide. I wasn't sure about that, specially because your list was in private mode. So I can let my suggestion stay. :D

Hugo and Gone Girl are based on books, though.

'Sausage Party'?

Great idea!
Of these? Gravity.
If a movie can have basically one person in it and still be fairly interesting, that's shows talent.

Correction: "owned their success" -> "owed their success"

FYC:

The Master
The Square
Melancholia

(maybe instead of some of the films by directors represented twice in your list: Nolan, Lanthimos, Wes Anderson)

Good list/idea! I'm going to second Parasite. I'd also like to suggest Okja, Looper, The Shape of Water, and even though it's about to get a sequel, A Quiet Place currently works very well as a standalone.

Yay, I get to vote for 'The Florida Project,' lol. That makes you my favorite person today, ElMo. : )

Is "one by director" a typo? I was confused at first but then I thought, oh, is this supposed to be "one per director?"

'Great list.

How's Inception original? It literally took idea from Paprika.
