I am confused with my choices. English titles or Original titles?

Don't mind. Please take Exorcist (1973) for me.  Hon. Mentions: Elite Squad and  it's sequel.  I had other 2 Spanish titles in mind. But, I guess 'El' is like 'The' in Spanish.

@Brijesh Indeed, el is an article.

@Brijesh  your 2 movies movies starting with couldn’t be 2 American made movies using Spanish titles? Howard Hawks El Dorado , and Anthony Mann’s El Cid ? More than one film is named “El Cid” if it is not the American one.

@Pencho15 question. What if “El” is used as part of a name of a place as in Howard Hawks’ “El Dorado”? Or used as part of a name of a person? As in Anthony Mann’s “El Cid” and the other movies also use that title? How does that work? The trailer for says it is one word. El Cid trailer

@dgranger The language rules for names are the same, in an alphabetical list El Cid would appear in the C. In the case of places, the country El Salvador, which is listed in the E in alphabetical lists, altought that is due to the fact that El is an official part o their name. That might apply to El Dorado as it is the name of a town in Arizona in the film (by the way, I saw that film a few days ago as a homage to James Caan).

@Pencho15 cool. Thank you since I don’t Spanish. So “El Dorado” could be listed here since it is part of the name of a place. I’m going to test it by going to the keyword section for western and have the list sorted alphabetically and see how it sorts the film. BTW how did you like it. As down below, it is a fun movie to watch.

@Pencho15 it was listed in in the “E” section when I used the keyword “cowboy” had the list sorted alphabetically. And so was all the westerns that used “El” as an article too. So while your information is informative, thank you, the IMDb program, at least here in the states, has titles starting with “El” as E films.

@dgranger It does the same with the English articles, they don't exclude them when they order them.

Awesome poll. So many good choices it will be hard to pick. I took E.T. Now I’m going back up this page to talk with Brijesh and Pencho about 2 American made films with Spanish titles where “El” is part on a name of a place and the other is a name of a person. And I’ll bet you already know which two I’ll mention when I say one is a Classic Howard Hawks western staring John Wayne and Robert Mitchum. The other is an epic movie about a medieval Spanish warrior starring Charlton Heston. btw, the Howard hawks one is my pick because it is just a fun western to see Wayne, Mitchum, and Caan play off each other. It’s not John ford or Serigio Leone but still fun to watch by master film director.

Since your poll is live, this is only a honorable mention. “Experiment in Terror”.

Hello dgranger, It doesn't matter if such of my polls were already published. If there are spots left, I'll add new picks. I've added your pick, 'Experimemt in Terror' to the list. Please let me know if that's your final pick so I can request mods for a repush.
