Live Poll: Happy 83rd Birthday to Robert De Niro

Actually, my two favorite De Niro movies have him playing a totally different type of character.

In "Awakenings," he is a man who has basically been living in a coma since he was a child.  He faces huge medical problems as he tries to adjust to a new world and a new body.

In "Bang the Drum Slowly," he is a mentally handicapped catcher on a major league baseball team who has to deal with friendship, teammates, and opponents with diminished mental capacity.

Maybe this could be a new category as "Men facing medical issues."
