Live Poll: Foreign Christmas Films
Most of the celebrated Christmas classics are from America and Britain... not surprising from the countries to which we owe good ol' Santa Claus and "A Christmas Carol"... but the holiday is celebrated in many countries all over the world so maybe it is time to celebrate it from the standpoint of non-English speaking countries. Which of these foreign Christmas films is your favorite? https://www.imdb.com/list/ls082180296/

FYC: Santa Claus (1959) It is hated worldwide and it was a fixed part of the Bottom 100 before the vote limit was increased. But it is a Mexican christmas classic, that is seen every year in our country Pastorela (2011) - Also from Mexico, Pastorelas are representation of the Nativity done on christmas in churches and towns. Tudo Bem No Natal Que Vem (2020) - From Brazil En underbar jävla jul (2015) - From Sweden Tomten är far till alla barnen (1999) - Also from Sweden Santa & Cie (2017) - From France Reisen til julestjernen (2012) - from Norway Vacanze di Natale 2000 (1999) - IMDb - from Italy Snekker Andersen og Julenissen (2016) - IMDb - from Norway Nøddebo præstegaard (1974) - IMDb from Denmark Bergmál (2019) - IMDb from Iceland Hjem til jul (2010) - IMDb - Norway and other countries

Just watched Tomten är far till alla barnen (1999) yesterday. My favorite by far. En underbar jävla jul (2015) should not be compared in my opinion. It's to similar and re-makey.

Tokyo Godfathers (2003) is my second favorite Christmas movie ever. But I really don't remember 8 Women (2002) being a Christmas movie at all. At least in the way people claim which movies fall under the Christmas movie genre.Plot summary: One morning at an isolated mansion in the snowy countryside of 1950s France, a family is gathered for the holiday season. But there will be no celebration at all because their beloved patriarch has been murdered! The killer can only be one of the eight women closest to the man of the house. Was it his powerful wife? His spinster sister-in-law? His miserly mother-in-law? Maybe the insolent chambermaid or the loyal housekeeper? Could it possibly have been one of his two young daughters? A surprise visit from the victim's chic sister sends the household into a tizzy, encouraging hysterics, exacerbating rivalries, and encompassing musical interludes. Comedic situations arise with the revelations of dark family secrets. Seduction dances with betrayal. The mystery of the female psyche is revealed. There are eight women and each is a suspect. Each has a motive. Each has a secret. Beautiful, tempestuous, intelligent, sensual, and dangerous...one of them is guilty. Which one is it? But I guess its Wiki page is more specific. Revolving around an eccentric family of women and their employees in the 1950s, the film follows eight women as they gather to celebrate Christmas in an isolated, snowbound cottage only to find Marcel, the family patriarch, dead with a knife in his back.

Here's another one from Argentina if you want it to replace 8 women: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0267490/?ref_=adv_li_tt Alongside my above suggestion from Spain, you have 25 again. Don't forget to add the country, Mexico, in Pastorela so it has the same format as the rest of the list.

Good poll, ElM! A Christmas Tale (of the ones I've seen so far) but I really want to see Mon Oncle Antoine.
