As a Canadian, I realize how many years it took us to acknowledge the First Nations' culture as part of our national identity. Even now, I can't say that I'm proud of myself, I have seen only a single film from this list (Kanehsatake). Though I have read 3 books on the matter in recent years (Shuni, Kukum, and Atuk), I should do more.
