The Duke because it's a good film, and because a lot of it is filmed within 1.5-3 miles of my house in Bradford the world's first UNESCO City of Film.

Some of the Bradford locations include:

Bradford City Hall

  • Palace of Westminster interior through the front entrance to the main entrance hall.
  • Palace of Westminster exterior at the side entrance next to the Mirror Pool.
  • The National Gallery courtyard.
  • Scotland Yard in the mayors room or the room opposite the mayors room, as I don't know which ones which. They could both be his offices for all I know. All I knows is that it's the room on the right.
  • The Home Office in one of the corridors.
  • The place where the Home Secretary is based wherever that is, most likely the Palace of Westminster again, in one of the many similar looking rooms on the 2nd/3rd floor.

Cartwright Hall

  • The National Gallery interior.

Little Germany

  • Newcastle Post Office exterior street and market scenes.

Cannon Mills

  • Newcastle boat builders yard.

Upper Piccadilly to the corner of Piccadilly

  • Newcastle street scenes on the way to the pub.

The unnamed backstreet between Holdsworth Street and Balme Street, around the back of Napoleons Casino

  • Newcastle boat storage building exterior.

I suspect there's other Bradford locations which I haven't spotted which will never be revealed.

They could have filmed the entire thing here, as we have the Old Court Rooms (in Bradford City Hall), the Old Prison Cells (in Bradford City Hall), the Old Graveyards (at Undercliffe Cemetery), and the Red Brick Houses (on some of the White council estates, although we don't have as many Red Brick house White council estates as Leeds does), however as usual they just couldn't resist filming some stuff in Leeds, and apparently London too yet it all looks like archive footage to me.

You might recognise some of the filming locations in Bradford and Leeds from some very big film and TV productions, as they always use the same places 99% of the time.

Coincidentally I only watched the film for the first time a couple of days ago, and have spent most of the last 2 days correcting and adding crew credits in a single submission (I'd already corrected the cast).

However the submission form is starting to get a bit glitchy when I press check these updates most likely due to the number of credits.

Therefore I've only been adding/correcting around 5 credits at a time, so that if the form fails to reload, I won't have many to re-add/re-correct again.

When I've finished the crew, I'll get started on the companies.

I've also merged a million duplicate profiles along the way as usual.
