Oh boy, do you need help on this one, eventhough a Pirates Of The Caribbean movie will steel the results.
- “Against All Flags”
- both versions of “The Buccaneer”.
- “Long John Silver” with Robert Newton. Don’t confuse it with Treasure island. This is an Australian made movie about Jim Hawkins and Silver after “Treasure Island” ends.
- “The Island” with Micheal Caine.
- if you are going to mention “Treasure Planet” , you better list one version of Treasure Island. I suggest the 1934 one.
- “Blackbeard The Pirate”,
- technically Hitchcock’s “Jamaican Inn” is a Pirate story
- “The King’s Pirate”
- “Frenchman’s Creek”(1944).

1) You had listed one of the worst pirate movies ever made “Cutthroat Island”. But worthy of the list. Thank god, you had avoided “The Pirate Movie” (1982) 5.1. Try “Swashbuckler”(1974) 6.4 . Also try using that as keyword search term too.
2) “Master and Commander: The Far Side Of The World” is not a pirate movie. It is a war movie. It is set in the Napoleonic Wars.
3) you had too many variations of “Treasure Island” without listing an actual direct adaptation of “Treasure Island”. Many films were made of Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel. Another Steven’s book and movie has a section on piracy too, “The Master of Ballantrae” (1953) ( but in the book, Flynn’s role, though indeed the rightful heir, he was really the villain of the story).
4) all the films based on Peter Pan. Eventhough Hook is a pirate, Peter Pan is considered as Fantasy. Very few people consider them as pirate movies.
If you want to consider fantasy movies with pirates as pirate movies, then I got two more for you: “The Princess Bride” and “Stardust”.

Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest! The "wheel fight" in the woods is my absolute favorite 'Pirates' scene.  Were I given more than one choice, I must admit  that I simply love Robert de Niro as ballet-dancing Captain in Stardust!

FYC: The Black Swan (Oscar winner for Visual Effects)

Maybe it would be good to have some variety at the top of the list instead of adding all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
