'Great list of films, ElMo! Makes this a tough choice. This has a great intro, too; great poll. :)

May I suggest two small edits? ('just comma> semi-colon -or colon- and magic> magical)

Was it because the war made people question the afterlife or because the after-war made them consider the precious, futile or somewhat volatile value of life; who knows? But let's just say that there was definitely something magical, disturbing or enchanting in the cinematic air of the 1940s... from animated music to costumed horror, whether in family-oriented dramas or heavenly comedies.

Fantasia for me. I always loved the god/demon Chernabog commanding souls out of their graves, the centaurs, centaurettes, and pegasi of the Pastoral Symphony, the life and death of the dinosaurs in the Rite of Spring.

The Sorcerer's apprentice is a bit dull, but still features some interesting imagery.
