Live Poll: Face-Off: Z vs. Devlin St. John

Back in March of 2026 in a segment of the episode Iran, USAID & Soap Operas (2026) of his show Last Week Tonight, comedian, commentator and host John Oliver talked about soap operas saying he wanted to be a part of that world. Then he made an offer to appear as an actor in any show that wrote a role for him promising he would "be on your set so fast, it will make your head spin.” and that he would "give his all in his performance"

However he put several conditions for his appearance:

A) He didn't want to play himself.
B) He wanted to have a ridiculous name
C) He wanted to do something juicy like murder or slapping or being slapped or being someone’s long-lost something.
D) He wanted a dramatic close up of his face

Two of the most well known soaps in US Television jumped at the chance of having Oliver in his show and wrote roles for him fullfilling his conditions.

In General Hospital he played Z, the head of the deep state-coded World Security Bureau.

In Days of Our Lives he played Devlin St. John chied water inspector in the town of Salem where the show usually takes place.

Oliver's appearance brought a renewed interest to both soaps that increased their ratings when he appeared and his performances where much talked about beyond the usual soap opera viewers.

Which of these characters played by John Oliver in soap operas this summer was the funniest?

Just a minor edit, remove the period in the first quote and add one after the sentence:

Then he made an offer to appear as an actor in any show that wrote a role for him promising he would "be on your set so fast, it will make your head spin" and that he would "give his all in his performance".

Also, this section will wrap, but maybe that's OK:

A) He didn't want to play himself. B) He wanted to have a ridiculous name C) He wanted to do something juicy like murder or slapping or being slapped or being someone’s long-lost something. D) He wanted a dramatic close up of his face

Don't know if you are aware yet, but Col said they had stopped truncating text on polls so the whole intro text is now visible in polls. This is good, but your intro is longer than usual so maybe you can reduce some spaces between the lines.
