Live Poll: Double-Barrelled Hyphenated Surnames
Hello, poll forum, another idea for your consideration, feedback welcome, thank you. In the Western tradition of surnames, there are several types of double surname (or double-barrelled surname). In British tradition, a double surname is heritable and mostly taken in order to preserve a family name that would have become extinct due to the absence of male descendants bearing the name, connected to the inheritance of a family estate. If the two names are joined with a hyphen, it may also be called a hyphenated surname. Which is your favorite actor/actress (or celebrity) with a double-barrelled hyphenated surname? https://www.imdb.com/list/ls505259077/

Louis-Dreyfus is in your list twice. Are you sure Pinkett-Smith is hyphenated?

ok, you are right, removed. I found her surname hyphenated in 2 google search results and 3x in the Wikipedia references. Surely not enough information. Or wrong information.

Since you mentioned one tradition, perhaps mention that there are other reasons, especially the wish to not prioritize a man's name over a woman's?
