I have not benefited in any way. But we could all benefit if after the crisis the economic recovery comes with a Green New Deal and a change of things away from consumism and towards sustainability.

One would hope so. However, if we look at Germany which is considered one of the more 'green' countries:

-Cruise lines have been subsidized so they can continue operating, even though it's a polluting business that would hardly be missed if it disappeared

-the economy minister (from a "Christian" party) called it a patriotic duty to go shopping around Christmas in order to boost the economy

And I suspect that like after a war, people will make up for what they missed and consume even more as soon as possible.

Indeed, things do look badly sometimes, and if things are bad in Germany, Mexico is even worst. Our goverment doesn't care at all about the environment and they are tying the future of our economy to big oil investments. Worst of all, they are producing low quality oil that no one wants to buy because its extremely toxic, so they are blocking green energy to force local power plants to use that, poisoning us all.

However, there's hope elsewhere, I saw New Zealand declared the Climate Emergency, that Denmark will not allow new oil platforms in their seas, and Biden seems to have at least good intentions in the USA, hopefully Georgia will avoid a Republican control of the senate so they can pass that legislation and move other countries in that way.

You did this poll very well and with sensitivity. 'Good list. My vote would go to either "more calm and peace -- less traffic, less noise, fewer crowds" or "more time to spend at home watching movies," although I miss theaters and the films that I can see there terribly, Still, I do appreciate those few benefits.

In the intro, that "of" at the beginning actually changes the meaning, although I'm sure people know what you mean. I'd remove it, though, so it reads like the sentence that you and Peter came up with above (Most people's lives have been affected in negative ways by COVID-19...)

I had not thought of these earlier, but FYC:

 - Greater appreciation for health care workers.

 - Greater appreciation of people we haven't been able to see and/or things we haven't been able to do.

 - Increased recognition of the importance of community and government responses to problems.
