Thanks, always worth checking out movies to see if any thing slipped by. Perception and reality are a tricky business when it comes to box office. It always surprising to see the unexpected movies that did better than you thought, as well as, the expected ones that didn't do as well as you thought. (i.e. 12 Years a Slave  $63,320,000 adj $56,671,993) Some of each directors best work isn't their most successful, especially if it is an early film in their career. All you suggestions did well at the box office, they just didn't make the top tier. The cut-off to be in the discussion for a Top 35 black-directed box office movie was north of $100 million in adjusted domestic box office.
