FYC, your introduction left me more questions than answers. You might consider expanding it a tad to explain his signature directing style, and his career of films built on critical acclaim, commercial sucess, and controversial films to clearer (not a lot, just a little). I am unclear on how his films are grand, or is the  mudic great due do to the score or soundtrack, or why every film he makes courts controversy.

Added some long winding intro. 🙂

I stopped doing detailed intros since very recently because a lot of them are very known personalities but this makes sense for SLB.

@Brijesh, Thanks. I think it came out great and given the reach of IMDb, I think most poll takers outside of India are not familiar with him. So, I think it is a fitting tribute and helpful. After reading it, I want to see one of his movies and I think others will too.

I was only asking to explain it a bit more with the existing sentences and add a little more detail by adding some choice descriptive words to flesh it out bit more.

But, now I know his films are known for thier catchy songs,  Indian folk music and grand production sets. His signature directing style is identifiable by his use of elaborate costumes, colorful backgrounds, and the use of black & blue elements. His films are often polarizing and extremely controversial, yet have gone to be some of the highest grossing movies in Indian cinema.

@Brijesh, some edits. Only a missing "the" and a hyphen until the last sentence. I reworked the last sentence, as it needed a little more work.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali turns 60 on February 24, 2022. He started his career as a director with the critically acclaimed Khamoshi the Musical (1996). His films often feature songs of Indian folk music and grand production sets. "Nimbuda", "Dola Dola", "Nagada Sang Dhol", "Pinga", "Dholida", etc. are considered to be some of the all-time classic songs. He prefers colorful backgrounds and costumes as shown in his filmography, but he has presented black/blue with such a grandeur in Black (2010), Guzaarish (2010), and Saawariya (2007).  Controversy has surrounded his more recent movies for their polarizing portrayal of segments of society and for being historical misrepresentations. But, despite these issues, his movies have gone on to be among the  highest grossing movies in India cinema.
