@Dibyayan_Chakravorty

FYC:

The following films were eligible for the 2024 Oscars and meet your parameters:

Talk to Me

Suzume no tojimari

Still

The Eight Mountains

How to Blow Up a Pipeline

On the other hand, the following films were not in the Oscar list of eligible films and it was impossible for them to be nominated:

Missing

Red, White and Royal Blue

When Evil Lurks

Rye Lane

Sly

The Old Oak

Here is the full list of eligible films FYI: https://www.oscars.org/sites/oscars/files/96th_aa_ge_reminder_list.pdf

It is a shame that films that were actually in the run for at least one nomination like Asteroid City, Beau is Afraid, Ferrari, Priscilla or No Hard Feelings do not meet your parameters. Perhaps if you lower your parameter to 6.5 you could open the dorr to all this actual Oscar contenders.

The top rated Indian film 12th Fail is also on the official list of eligible titles.

@Peter_pbn I noticed it, I didn't mentioned it because it has no metascore which is one of Dibyayan's parameters.

@Pencho15

Thanks and added the following:

Talk to Me

Suzume no tojimari

Still

The Eight Mountains

How to Blow Up a Pipeline

Reducing the rating parameter to 6.5 will make more than 35 eligible films. My list currently has 30.

@Dibyayan_Chakravorty  Hi Dibby! Oscar season always reminds me of you -- and you and I doing our almost-annual "Favorite Winners" and "Favorite Moments" polls. 'Hope you're doing well. : )

FYC:

All of Us Strangers  (IMDb score: 8.1, Metascore: 89, Votes: 4.5 but that will go up when it has it has its wider theatrical release, at least in the States, this Friday, Jan. 26)

(It was on the Oscar shortlist in several categories but no nominations: 'my biggest Oscar disappointment so far this year.)

@rubyfruit76

Thanks and added.

Miss you guys so much. I don't get enough time these days to spend on watching movies or IMDb polls.
