I am missing the connection of #8 to the rest of the answer pool.

It seems like One of These Things Is Not Like The Other.

?????

FYC, Last Week with John Oliver doesn't seems like it is One of These Things That Is Not Like The Others, it should be removed I believe.

Also, I am unclear if this a list of IMDb TV 250 series that are historically accurate or are they fictional IMDb TV 250 series set in historical times or do they simply have historical characters and can be both accurate and fictional IMDb TV 250 series?

FYC,I would further explain that aspect in your question beyond just history to be clear.

Depending, on the answer your answer pool might need to be adjusted, as I see both inclusions and ommissions, both ways.

I am still unclear if the titles that are listed are in the history genre and are in the IMDb TV Top 250 , or are historically factual and are in the IMDb TV Top 250 , or have fictional characters set in historical times and are in the IMDb TV Top 250? Your question/introduction is unclear.

FYC,

1) I would suggest saying that in your question.

Which of these history genre television shows from the IMDb Top 250 TV chart is your favorite?

2) You might want to double check how you did your search, whether it was for history as a keyword or history as a genre. I did the latter and the search only yielded 60% as many titles.

.

3) Even some of those IMDb TV Top 250 series, I question to some degree. Because, when it comes to calling something historical it can range from 100% historically accurate to as little as 5% historically accurate (where the big events in the background happened, but everything else is fictional). I, Claudius, Deadwood, and The Knick are three period title examples that are extremely fictionalized and yet I don't see other period titles like Rome or The Offer on the list that are the same or more historically accurate.

Which of these history TV shows from the IMDb Top 250 TV chart is your favorite?

I am still having a hard time understanding the difference between these IMDb TV Top 250 titles that made your historical answer pool and these IMDb TV Top 250 titles that did not make your historical answer pool.

Made historical answer pool

75. I, Claudius (1976)

99.. Vinland Saga (2019)

119. Mahabharat (1988–1990)

122. Deadwood (2004–2006)

135. It's a Sin (2021)

218. Spartacus: Gods of the Arena (2011)

222. Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal (1999)

243. The Knick (2014–2015)

Did not make the historical answer pool

44. Fargo (2014)

63. Pride and Prejudice (1995)

65. Blackadder Goes Forth (1989)

*79. Rome (2005)

81. Peaky Blinders (2013)

96. Downton Abbey (2010)

102. Mad Men (2007)

106. Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)

113. 1883 (2021)
132.  Blackadder II (1986)
151.  Blackadder the Third (1987)
*154.  The Offer (2022)
158.  Anne with an E (2017)
159.  Poirot (1989)
*163.  Boardwalk Empire (2010)
170.  The Queen's Gambit (2020)
202.  Spartacus (2010)
213.  North & South (2004)
237. Derry Girls (2018)
245.  Foyle's War (2002)

They must not have the History genre tag.

@BonaFideBOSS It is not even the most glaring contradiction. But, #218. Spartacus: Gods of the Arena (2011) makes your list, while #202. Spartacus (2010) does not make your list is a real head-scatcher for me.

@BonaFideBOSS, FYC, I am not looking to blame anyone. But, I think everyone realizes IMDb information is more correct than not. But, it does have enough mistakes for it come with a caveat. If you are using that information and not double checking it, the fault is really yours, if you are using a history tag, instead of going to the list directly.

Which of these history TV shows from the IMDb Top 250 TV chart is your favorite?

Additionally, you have yet to fix your question and further clarify, so poll takers can understand the scope of your question beyond just history, as it can mean different things to different people.

I am still unclear, if this a list of IMDb TV 250 series that are historically accurate or are they fictional IMDb TV 250 series set in historical times or do they simply have historical characters and can be both accurate and fictional IMDb TV 250 series? You still need to further explain that aspect in your question beyond just history to be clear.

Depending, on the answer your answer pool might need to be adjusted, as I see both inclusions and ommissions, both ways. Your answer pool should be consistent with your question.

It is very simple, what can you not understand?

The question asks you to choose your favorite history genre tv show in the IMDb Top 250 TV chart.

If a title in the IMDb Top 250 TV chart has the history genre (as shown in the image below) then it should be on my list.

Have you not seen other similar polls I've made?

- IMDb Top 250 Mystery TV Shows

- IMDb Top 250 Family Movies

- IMDb Top 250 Romance Movies

- IMDb Top 250 Sport Movies

- IMDb Top 250 War Film

=====

Here, try this:

Go to the IMDb Top 250 TV page and open each title, then scroll down to the section where they list all the genres, which is "Storyline" (see the image above), and check if that title has the History genre or not and then compare it with my list.

And if you think a title should have the History genre but it's currently missing, you can edit the title to add the History genre. I'll update my list accordingly.

@BonaFideBOSS I don't disagree that they maybe classified that way or not classified on IMDb that way. I disagree that it is an accurate classification and your premise that IMDb overrides common sense is flawed. Your assertion that #79. Rome (2005), #81. Peaky Blinders (2013), #96. Downton Abbey (2010), #113. 1883 (2021), #154.  The Offer (2022), #163.  Boardwalk Empire (2010), and #202.  Spartacus (2010) don't belong on a history genre Top 250 poll should be based on their IMDb genre class, rather than them being actually set in historical times doesn't make any sense.

@BonaFideBOSS Again, I think if you are putting forth a poll suggestion you should check it to see if the information is accurate before posting it. It seems all these suggestions in the Top 250 series suffer from the same issue and were not double-checked. Instead, you are relying on them to be accurate, based on how they are tagged by users (which could be as little as a single misinformed person) and not using basic common sense.

I am not trying to offend you. But, I have yet to find a single poll suggestion in this Top 250 genre series you propose that doesn't have a dozen or more errors and all suffer from the same "garbage in, garbage out" malady. I am pointing this out, because you might be too close to your suggestions and don't realize this is an issue with all of them.
