2 PS: [Now] Favorite Live-Action Movie, Stage, TV, or Streaming Superman Portrayal (Ready)

Superman Day is celebrated worldwide on June 12th each year. The day is meant to honor the iconic Kryptonian, his impact on earth movies and on popular earth culture. Superman first appeared, as the character we recognize today on April 18, 1938, in “Action Comics #1.” His storyline in that issue proved so popular that its publisher issued Superman his own self-titled comic book series, premiering with "Superman #1" (cover date Summer 1939), the first superhero to have their dedicated comic series. Superman-mania would continue with superhero getting his own serialized radio show, "The Adventures of Superman" in 1940, his own theatrical short film serial and movie, Superman (1948) and his own syndicated television series, Adventures of Superman (1952). In recognition of the nearly 90 years of storylines that the Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster creation has brought us and Superman's pioneering influence on the superhero genre across a wide range of media formats: Favorite Live-Action Superman Movie, Short Film, or Stage Portrayal

Don't forget:  David Patrick WIlson.

He played Superman/Clark Kent in the 1975 filmed version of the broadway show "It's a Bird... It's a Plane... It's Superman!"  Lesley Ann Warren played Lois Lane in this one.

Since the 1975 version wasn't a really a staged revival production and was filmed over the course of three days as a TV special for ABC, and shown exclusively on TV, it is listed only on the TV portion of the poll. The Bob Holiday version is listed on the theatrical portion of the poll and covers the Broadway run plus short runs in other cities. There are no other listings for the single day or less than a month revivals of "It's a Bird... It's a Plane... It's Superman"  that occurred between 2007 and 2016.

Productions 1966 Broadway, plus Saint Louis & Kansas City, 1975 ABC TV special, 2007 Los Angeles Concert, 2010 Dallas, 2013 New York City Encores!, 2014 London, 2015 West End, and 2016 Germany

scope part 2: licensed live-action television, streaming, or direct-to-video

scope part 1: licensed live-action theatrical movie, theatrical short, or stage

@urbanemovies   Okay, sorry.  I remember watching the tv special the year it aired.  I was spending the night at a friend's house and it was on later in the evening.  Three teenage boys stayed up and watched that show and giggled and laughed as we found it hilarious.  I have no idea if it was any good or not, but the scores and ratings for it are pretty bad... and what do 14 year olds know about quality anyway?

I am glad you pointed it out, it forces me to double check and make sure its right. Plus, I originally had him listed on both polls until I realized that it wasn't a revival per se.

Although, I would think they had some table readings, rehersals, or even put on few performances prior to filming. But, maybe all that would have been too costly and they went with multiple takes over three days to get the performance they thought was good enough to broadcast. It seems odd to do it from scratch, rather than filming an stage production that was already running, like the do today with stage plays or concert films.
