Which of these select 21st century movies, film series or extended movies (shown as a streaming limited miniseries) featuring a prominent Christ-like figure is your favorite one from the current century?

Live Poll: TBD

Both, these cinematic answer pools are limited to one Christ-like figure per media franchise with multiple Christ-like figures from the same series being consolidated into a single representative answer choice.

Acording to Wikipedia, "... a Christ figure, also known as a Christ-Image, is a literary technique that the author uses to draw allusions between their characters and the biblical Jesus. More loosely, the Christ figure is a spiritual or prophetic character who parallels Jesus, or other spiritual or prophetic figures.

In general, a character should display more than one correspondence with the story of Jesus Christ as depicted in the Bible. For instance, the character might display one or more of the following traits: performance of miracles, manifestation of divine qualities, healing others, displaying kindness and forgiveness, fighting for justice, being guided by the spirit of the father character, and the character's own death and resurrection. Christ figures are often martyrs, sacrificing themselves for larger causes."

How about Robert DeNiro in The Mission?  He is put on a cross and send down a river and over the falls while working as a Christian missionary in South America a few hundred years ago.

@TheOldJalapenoman

Thanks, I agree that 'The Mission' (1986) answer option should be included and I had overlooked that title.

But, I am opting to include the Father Gabriel character over the Captain Rodrigo Mendoza character, although both exhibit Christ-like figure qualities. Plus, I think the Gabriel (Jeremy Irons) is the character that what went over the falls tied to a cross, not the Mendoza character (Robert De Niro).

P.S.: Since both, cinematic answer pools are limited to one Christ-like figure per media franchise with multiple Christ-like figures from the same series being consolidated into a single representative answer choice. You can still vote for Robert De Niro's Mendoza character by voting for 'The Mission' (1986) answer option.

I had not seen the movie since it came out and was not 100 percent sure who went over the falls.

@TheOldJalapenoman Same here, I have only seen the film once or twice and it has been awhile. I am basing that on the wikipedia plot and even though it wasn't explicitly stated, (I can only assume the reason being it being a spoiler), it is implied by the sequence of events.

@Jessica Thanks, it is back under the limit now. I removed Franco Nero as a Christ-like figure in The Visitor (1979) and Burt Lancaster as Christ-like Figure, Constable Bob Valdez in Valdez is Coming (1971).
