Superman Day is celebrated worldwide on June 12th each year. The day is meant to honor the iconic Kryptonian, his impact on earth movies and on popular earth culture. Superman first appeared, as the character we recognize today on April 18, 1938, in “Action Comics #1.” His storyline in that issue proved so popular that its publisher issued Superman his own self-titled comic book series, premiering with "Superman #1" (cover date Summer 1939), the first superhero to have their dedicated comic series. Superman-mania would continue with superhero getting his own serialized radio show, "The Adventures of Superman" in 1940, his own theatrical short film serial and movie, Superman (1948) and his own syndicated television series, Adventures of Superman (1952). In recognition of the nearly 90 years of storylines that the Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster creation has brought us and Superman's pioneering influence on the superhero genre across a wide range of media formats:  Favorite Live-Action Superman Movie, Short Film or Stage Portrayal
