Search: Finding characters Problematic when Actor Plays Multiple Characters in a Series
Another user was unable to find the character Rachel Duncan, one of many characters that Tatiana Maslany plays on Orphan Black (2013– ) . Even though the character page exists for Rachel Duncan (http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0433230/), it does not show up in search results for "All" or "Character".
I provided the following work-around:
I used a Google search to find "Rachel Duncan"
Search box:
site:imdb.com/character "Rachel Duncan"

IMDb Character Page:

I suspect that the IMDb search engine is unable to find the character page for Rachel Duncan because Tatiana Maslany plays many different characters on Orphan Black (2013– ).

"Rachel Duncan" is one of the alternative names listed on the page. Perhaps the search engine cannot provide results for alternative names of characters? That would seem to be a bug? As we know, the search engine can produce results for alternative names on name pages. It should be able to do likewise for character pages; but apparently, at least in this instance, it can't?

This is a list of television programs in which one character was played by multiple actors. In numerous television programs, producers have cast multiple actors for the part of the same character. This list does not include different actors playing the same character at significantly different ages (as in flashbacks FaceTime for PC), but it does include actors playing the character continuously as the character ages.
