Ratings: It should be possible to add a description to "my ratings" titles on that list.

I think that would be an awesome feature to implement I don't see why not. I really don't want to have a separate list just to add a few notes..

Hi Ruben Gomes,

You may have noticed that IMDb does not allow users to edit their "my ratings" list. Your "my ratings" list is populated by rating titles. If IMDb allowed users to add a description to a title in their "my ratings" lists, users would need to be able to edit their "my ratings" list. Synchronizing your "my ratings" list with titles they rated would become significantly more complicated.

IMDb allows users to copy their "my ratings" list to another list. Although you may find this less convenient, at least you can update this list without much effort.

I don't understand what you mean. It would simply allow us to create a note for the movie. For example, I gave "12 Angry man" a 9, I would like to create a note saying: "Not a 10 because of some unrealistic arguments.", It wouldn't change the title.

 How would that make:

Synchronizing your "my ratings" list with titles they rated would become significantly more complicated.

Im sorry not trying to be rude but I don't understand what you mean.

And your argument is very redundant

I don't know what you mean by editing a list. But I just want a feature to add some type of comment to the rating..

Let's take the example you mention:
I gave "12 Angry man" a 9, I would like to create a note saying: "Not a 10 because of some unrealistic arguments.", It wouldn't change the title.
In a sense, IMDb already allows a user to add a comment with their rating. IMDb allows users to write a review of a title. However, you probably would not wish to write a review simply to add a simple comment. IMDb also requires that reviews to be at least 10 lines long and prohibits certain banned words.

Since writing a review would not address your suggestion, lets examine the implications of your suggestion. There are three basic cases and two sub-cases.

Case 1: You have not rated "12 Angry man".

Case 1A:
You rate "12 Angry man". To add a comment, IMDb would have to provide you a text box to add that comment. You type the comment: "Not a 10 because of some unrealistic arguments." and save it. That comment has to be stored some place. The logical place would be your ratings list.

Case 1B:
You rate "12 Angry man" and add a comment. You discover after adding the comment that you have a typo or spelling error in you typo. You wish to change the comment. It would be very inconvenient to have to go to you rating page so IMDb allows you to edit the comment in the same place as you originally added the comment.

Case 2: You have rated "12 Angry man", but wish to change the rating and/or comment.

Case 3: You wish to delete your rating for "12 Angry man"

IMDb allows users to rate titles in many places. If IMDb allows comments for ratings, it would be a reasonable expectation that wherever you can rate a title, you can also add and change a comment.

So far the ability to add, edit and delete comments associated with a rating would not cause any problems other than adding another layer of complexity to rating a title. IMDb may decide that adding this complexity may discourage users from rating titles or that there is insufficient demand for this feature to justify the work it would take to implement this feature.

Let's say IMDb decides to allow users to associate comments with the rating. From a user perspective, it would be logical to be able to edit all of your comments in one place.

IMDb could allow users to edit the ratings list to allow users to change the comment. However, IMDb would still probably have to prohibit many any other changes to the ratings list. Allowing a user to add a title to the ratings list, would require IMDb to check that the title is not duplicated in the list. Deleting a title from the list would in effect remove the rating. Editing the order of the rating list adds complexity.

After each review of a movie, there is the question "Was the above review useful to you?" with options Yes / No. If one chooses YES does it mean that he/she agrees with the review? Does NO mean he/she does not agree with the review? Moreover: YES means GOOD and NO means BAD? My suggestion: instead of YES/NO, let's have "I agree" and "I don't agree". These 2 alternatives are much more clear. Please, consider this suggestion. Thanks!
