Purple 'Private' Tag on Sprinklr.

Never seen it before but it was on one of my posts, why is it there and what's it mean? Can my replies still be seen?

@VonPunk Posts tagged as private can only be seen by the author and IMDb.  It is an anti-spam tactic which has pretty much eliminated spam from Sprinklr since its launch because there’s no longer any audience for the spam.

Sprinklr’s systems automatically tag a subset of posts based on certain (undisclosable) criteria. There is nothing to worry about if your post is not spam, as soon enough an IMDb team member will set the post to public (or they will block and delete the account if the post is spam).

Hope this helps.

I asked this question today too as my post was marked private and then deleted... in what way was it " spam"?

@Col_Needham Thank you for that info, very useful and hopefully others will happen on this thread to have the same question answered. My post contained a link to an image on Ebay that was photographic evidence so I reckon that'll have been what triggered the spam filter till staff reviewed it.

Perhaps there is a way to avoid recognized accounts having posts marked private, perhaps based on the points system.

The only spam that I really found to be bothersome was the kind that had hyperlinks with hypertext comprised solely of a full-stop symbol, aka low dot, because I considered that to be sneaky. Of course, there were other sneaky tactics like wording advertisements in such a way as to made them resemble the normal exchange of words that wold be observed on a forum like this. Even so, one major piece of the problem of the spam was that the sites being referenced might be administered by somebody who has an interest in knowing the Internet addresses of the computers/networks used by people who not only visit the forum but post on it as well. Technically speaking, members of the community who both host their own websites and are curious about other members could have motive like that, but I wouldn't consider that to be a too much of a problem, since they would avoid publicizing or otherwise abusing the information. I've tried to interrogate a few spammers, but they don't respond before their posting accounts are deleted. One question that frequently comes to mind is whether or not their primary objective is to simply boost the search engine optimization (SEO) rankings of the websites to which they post hyperlinks.

The post can't be seen if it's tagged private, but the tag tends to go away eventually.

It would be good to know for sure why it happens.

@Peter_pbn Thanks for that answer. First time for me, just helped someone and commented to let them know but I guess for now, they won't know I did it. I edited my post to see if that made any difference, then deleted it completely and reposted it to see if it worked, but alas not. Well going on your information, I'll just hope that my post becomes visible and hope my reply to you can be seen haha. Cheers.

Edit: Not sure if staff helped but the 'private' tag is now gone and the post is visible in just under an hour.

I've been posting on this work computer for months. So, that and my IP address can't be an issue. Posted here in this IMDb Poll thread for more context. There ain't any obvious change in my profile and this is the first time I've seen this post status/indicator.
