Increase the limit on watchlists, lists, and check-ins beyond 10,000 items

Can you just do it early this year please?

Given all the new code/tech changes (RIP old reference page design), let's focus on what matters: more than 10k items in a watchlist.

I haven't reached the 10,000 limit on any list, so I can't say for sure. I doubt that it would delete old items. I expect it would either warn you or just reject those beyond 10k. You could perform a test by creating a list you don't really want, and copy titles to it, 250 at a time from another list. Frankly, you can just add the same titles over and over, because that's allowed. That would be 40 pages to copy, then see what happens. Maybe on the last one, only add 245 titles, then pick 6+ titles that are NOT already on the list, and try to copy those. Fortunately, Ratings are not really a list, so you can rate more than 10k titles.

@kaestle 😀 watchlist is limited to 10,000 movie titles This takes up space on IMDb's computer. You could keep a list on Your computer. in NotePad with 26 files A-Z ?? 173,350,000 Users registered. There could be a lot of watchlists on IMDb .

Even if every user had 10,000 titles in their watchlist, the total data would amount to less than 300 terabytes. At a cost of $100 per terabyte, it would still be quite feasible. IMDb gains reputation from every rating. However, the number of users who actually reach 10,000 titles in their watchlist is likely limited.

Isn't the watchlist typically for movies you want to see, rather than movies you have seen? I usually just rate the movie 1-10 once I have watched it, and then remove it from my watchlist. Or maybe I've been doing it backwards all these years
