Suggestion: It's 'A Different World' When You're 'Grown-ish'

Often when teen TV characters exit high school, they end up just getting a job or attending college in the same town the show is set in, in order to allow the characters to stay on the show. But occasionally things go in a different direction. Just like A Different World was spun-off from The Cosby Show when Denise Huxtable went to Hillman College, Black-ish has recently spawned Grown-ish, in which Zoey Johnson attends Southern California University.

Which of these newly- or nearly-graduated characters do you feel would have made the most interesting spin-off?

List: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls021548080

* Must be a character who could leave without the original show falling apart while still being strong enough to carry a show of their own

I'd go for Haley Dunphy.  She'd end up bouncing around all over the country after getting kicked out of so many schools.  Or, for a show cross-over with Family Ties, she could end up at Grant College  with Mallory Keaton!

Malcolm in the Middle

From the last episode:

Final scenes shows him as a Harvard student and he pays his studies by working as a janitor, would have loved to see if he could make it as a President

It is okay. That list is about the art in the i
Age of the poster. Some of the posters on this list are pieces of art. You did exactly what the list was about.

In fact, bring back the posters. They looked better and more interesting. Let the programs descriptions for each entry finish the hook to excite viewing interests.

I don't know what you are talking about. I have another poll about new tv shows that look interesting just because of their posters.

This is a completely different list about young adult characters who could sustain and spin-off.

I only saw the backdoor pilot to Grownish, the episode that appeared on Blackish.  Really surprised how amateurish it was.

I hated Wesley Crusher more than Reginald Barclay (and I disdained Barclay with the passion of a million stars).

Audrey Horne from Twin Peaks was my favorite character from Twin Peaks.  Then again, I haven't revisited the series or seen the soft reboot.  Not sure how this would work with the reboot in the wild.]

I think Alex P. Keaton from Family Ties could literally work as a crossover spinoff with the Veep universe of politics.  Have him win a governors seat or something.

Go higher. Senator, or Representative in Congress or even President because of most of the best comedy in “Family Ties” with Alex came when he was talking politics with a liberal. There is a lot of material to lampoon on BOTH liberal and conservative. Also, it can serve as a means to discuss BOTH SIDES of an issue. Make it more like “The West Wing” than comedy. Like “Lew Grant” went serious after is had spinner off of the Mary Tylor Moore show comedy.
