Hi @mariojacobs , thanks for the comments and suggestions. I compiled the list by focusing on those filmmakers cited by other filmmakers, as well as critics and scholars. (See "Sources" listed above.) However, I'll look for Ramos and Igg (and I already put them on my watchlist based on your recommendation). If I find them mentioned, I'll add them to the list. Poitier was cited as an actor but not as a filmmaker by the sources I used. Thanks again!

I love Jordan Peele's movies and his style, but I need to see some Spike Lee movies

@Scholle2008  Considering that I've always thought that you and I have similar taste, I'm guessing you'll really like his movies. Do the Right Thing, Da Five Bloods, Inside Job, and American Utopia are my favorites of his, and I also really like the mini series that he did for HBO, especially When the Levees Broke. And then there are his hits, like BlackKklansman, which is quite good, and Malcolm X, which I'm not crazy about but both Richard Ebert and Martin Scorsese count among the ten best movies of the '90s. I love Spike Lee: can you tell? Lol.

For Your Consideration, I think these black filmmakers  are in the conversation as notable Black Filmmakers Who Changed Cinema either through a single film or their lifetime work on either a critical or commercial level. I have seen all of them mentioned on notable black directors lists. for Timbuktu (2014) for Killer of Sheep (1978)

@urbanemovies  Hi Urb, thanks, so much, for the feedback. I compiled the list by looking only at filmmakers often cited by other filmmakers, as well as critics and scholars. (See "Sources" listed above.) Burnett is definitely on the list, as well as F. Gary Gray. I was considering Prince-Bythewood so since you suggest her. I added her.  : )
