About Ready Player One: I didn't know much about it other than Spielberg's involvement, but you could also say that it will have a score by John Williams and that it is based on a bestseller by Ernest Cline.

Among the film directors, at this time Nolan has the best Top 250 success rate. 7 out of 9 films, 77.78%.

I would agree, I don't see or know of anything that is a the horizon that I think would even have a shot. It is a tall task in the first place, but would require a movie that blows away audiences by firing on all cylinders. It would require near perfection in every facet from writing, stars, direction, effects, production quality, great source material, etc, I could see something maybe making the Top 250 from the list though.

I think looking at the titles in are currently in the IMDb top 15 might yield some clues though. It would either come from an iconic franchise or book that elevates it to a next level result or totally out of left field from a hot new talent writer/director with a fresh take that wows audiences.

Can you please tell me why do you think 'Deadpool 2' has the chance to be among top 10?

Deadpool comic book character is not a popular.  First movie became #1 highest gross R-rated movie.  Considered for awards. No one wants to compete with Deadpool 2 opeing weekend. An interesting mix of great comic book characters.  Big stars and newbies actors, good action director etc.

My pick is Guardians of the Galaxy. Its just a suggestion, you don't have to add.

Unfortunately, none of the previous two 'Thor' movies have ever placed on IMDb Top 250.

Thor: Ragnarök (2017) is going to be the biggest box office bomb of the solo 'Thor' franchise. But the IMDb Top 250 placement is something different. Plus, the director's (Taika Waititi) films have never appeared in Top 250.
