P.S.: What Is The Most USA Patriotic Film? 2026

List page: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls4174395855/?ref_=up_urls_t_1

Poll page:

With the USA’s 250th anniversary coming up, what is the most patriotic film for the USA? (I am thinking of doing another for the other countries around the world too but later.) So which one got your vote?

To place another candidate on this ballot, the ballot box is here.

Before I finish this start of posting, this for the USA’s 250th birthday on July 4th, 2026, and NOT for Memorial Day because of all the war movies in it.

This list is far from perfect. If you got better film suggestions, then make them and suggest which to remove.

“A Matter of Life and Death” does belong on this list as the trial does define freedom and patriotism. And though unsaid, some of the charges the American Revolutionary War spirit (who hates the British) attorney throws at the British are the very same charges that were thrown at the USA over the years, thus making the point unsaid that both nations were accused by other nations. That point made me uneasy during the film.

I debating which Micheal bay film to put in. He waves the red, white and blue like there is no tomorrow. Ether “13 hours” or “The Rock”.

I clicked on the link to see what was there but was informed that the list was not open to the public.

Does your list include:

Yankee Doodle Dandy

The Right Stuff

Independence Day

Birth of a Nation (original, NOT remake)

The Green Berets

The Sands of Iwo Jima

Thanks for telling me that. It is now on and two of what you had listed are already on it. “Yankee Doodle dandy “ and “Independence Day” are already there.

@TheOldJalapenoman it is on now. Are there any films you think should be removed? 4 of your candidates were added. The other two were already there.

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I get this message when I click on your link:

Please edit the title to the list and this thread.

You misspelled patriotic. And the question title is awkwardly written [What Is The Most USA Patroitic Film?]

Maybe try What Is The Most Patriotic Film from the United States?

Three other film classics to suggest:

1940's Abe Lincoln in Illinois (this has been remade several times for film and television)

1939's Young Mr. Lincoln

1962's How the West Was Won (one of my favorite all time movies and I can't believe I forgot it before)

I just typed a reply that disappered!

1962's How the West Was Won may be one of the most patriotic films of all time and is a personal favorite.  The cast is fantastic.

1940's Abe Lincoln in Illinois was remade several times, but this is the original.  Raymond Massey almost made a career of playing Lincoln.

1939's Young Mr. Lincoln stars a young Henry Fonda as the future president.

@TheOldJalapenoman I see it.

”Young Mr. Lincoln” is already on there.

“Abe Lincoln in Illinois “ would make the 2nd Raymond Massey film on the list. He is the prosecutor in the trial in Heaven in “A Matter of Life and Death”. Should I remove Spielberg’s “Lincoln”? Maybe. Consider them added. But remember, if anybody has better suggestions, some already on the list, mostly my picks, may be removed!

“A Great Awaking” is set in stone. I saw it . Loved it. Loved it because it was about the spark that starts the revolution and it also talks about a critical point where the nation almost died.

Just for your consideration:

Independence Day

Air Force One

Forrest Gump

World Trade Center

Rocky IV

Captain America - The First Avenger

Glory

Most of them are top patriotic movies!
