PS: The Newcoming Elite: Directors

Intro:

We all know about the director-elite which is established since decades. Probably no one would have a doubt on the professionality of the well known directors like Scorsese, Tarantino, Spielberg, Coppola.

But look about 15 years back, maybe a few years more. In the 2010s and the mid of the 2000s decade, newer movie directors established their work, which successfully delighted a wide audience. They even might have been on TV-Series before, but now they are successful in movies, too. They might become the new elite for future generations, because of their unconventional and original kind of filming.

Which of them looks the most of beeing one of the prospective elite? (Based on their movies with an average rating higher than 7/10 and more than 100k ratings.)

Tell us here.

Suggestions:

Directors which had directed their first feature movies after 2005 with a minimum of movies that has more than 100k ratings and each of these movies should be rated 7.0 or higher. It's about new main stream directors which have a realistic chance to be counted to the elite one day, because of their new way and their succes in younger times. The first two options are good examples, evem though their age isn't the leading criterion. If a director started late, he can be counted too, if he or she fits the main criteria. The main criteria: first feature movie after 2005. A minimum of 3 movies which reached more than 100k ratings with an average rating of 7.0/10 or higher. (Documentaries not included, as well as animation movies.)

Poll: TBD

A minimum of 3 movies which reached more than 100k ratings with an average rating of 7.0/10 or higher.

Only 602 films meet these criteria. People who have directed 3 of them are to me already among the elite.

https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title_type=feature&release_date=2005-01-01,&user_rating=7.0,&num_votes=100000,

I inspected half of the list, these are the director meeting the criteria that I could find:

Rian Johnson

J. J. Abrams

Chad Stahelski

Joss Whedon

Ben Affleck

Martin McDonagh

Shane Black

Craig Gillespie

Joe Wright

Francis Lawrence

@cinephile

In the future, not today. When you think of Stephen Spielberg, his First feature movie 'Firelight' has a rating of 5.6/10, later 'Duel' had a rating of 7,6/10, later 'Something Evil' got 5.4/10, Then 'Sugarland-Express', which got a rating of 6.8/10. All big movie makers started small. The success was seldom first in the careers. This is more about guessing the future of these candidates. I trust in your correctbess and put them on the list. I hope there are no double names to not mix up persons.

Thank you for finding out the directors which meet the criteria. Too kind. :D
