PS: Regional Popular Rock Bands

Intro:

There are many good rock bands around the world. Some of them have a big fanbase, but stayed small. The IMDb poll board users show us examples of their regional rock bands. Please listen to the examples and read the trivia, if you don't already know them.

Which of these bands appears to be the most interesting? Rock us here.

Suggesting:

Please pick a popular rock band of your region. It might have had it's peak in another decade. For suggestions I need a representative youtube-music-clip. Please search for some triva of your beloved rockers. It should be interesting. Not the biggest rockers like AC/DC, Stones and other highnesses. I know this is a challenge for many users who don't have music as a number one matter. So please leave it to rock lovers. If there are not enough users contributing, the idea dies naturally. No pure pop, electronic, jazz, classic, no pure each other kind of music.

The wildcard (School of Rock) is applied to any option to guarantee same chances. And to be true, I didn't find any useable title for EROC. That might happen to other smaller rockers around the world, so it's the best solution for all of them. 2 picks per user.

I'm not a fan of rock, but I could do an effort for the sake of promoting my regional culture. However, I think that most of them aren't on IMDb.

It's not the point if they are on IMDb (wildcard & yt-video). I think some users might find pearls which are interesting to them. If I don't like Pizza, I can still recommend some Pizza services around, but would it make sense? It's more like the album poll a few month ago, where everyone picked his (at that time) most favored album. I'm not bad about, if there come no suggestions. As I said, then the idea dies naturally. But if you find a rock band that fits for you and you have some interesting trivia for it, you're welcome. But as I said ... not the kings and queens. I forgot to mention: 2 picks per user, sorry. :D

The poll idea is very new. So I would like to give other users a chance to suggest. That's why I want to rise the limmit to three suggestions each user, but not completely skip it. Let's see what happens. If there are to less suggestions coming in, that can be changed later.

Holy Fawn

Arizona

Holy Fawn - Dark Stone

Their music could be described as blackgaze (combination shoegaze and black metal, but with elements of post rock as well.) Whatever you call it, "Dark Stone" sounds massive, balancing moments of soaring beauty with a soul-shaking sense of dread. Much of their music deals with the sublime experiences one can have in nature.

I couldn't find much in the way of interesting trivia from the couple interviews I read. They're fairly new, no Wikipedia page yet. I did establish a new imdb page for them at least.

I'll let you know if I think of any others. I like this poll idea.

Thank you. I've put your suggestion to the list. Took a part of your description as trivia. ;)

We sang Skandal im Sperrbezirk in one of our music lessons at school :D

Unfortunately I don't know any bands from my region. Either I'm completely oblivious or "we" just don't produce much noteworthy music.

@albstein

Hi, albstein.

I sing it everytime I hear it. ;D

There are many german groups that were recognized in the world.

The Scorpions

Herbert Grönemeyer

Boney M.

Bonfire

BAP

The BossHoss

Udo Lindenberg

Rosenstolz

Tokyo Hotel

Wir sind Helden

Liquido

And there are a few more, not just in rock, but also dancefloor (techno), NDW, Jazz, and so on. :D

Herbert is from my region, but he's neither a band nor of the rock genre so I didn't mention him. And I only like some of his older songs.

I also like Kraftwerk and Rammstein but they're from other regions.

He stands on the list of German rock bands on wikipedia, so I mentioned him. I know some do not like him, but his band also plays a strong guitar. Anyway I'm enlighted about the reactions on this suggestion, because I knew from beginning that it is an unsafe area. But I see that some like it.

@ACT_1

Thank you, ACT_1.

I just thought of better still existing bands, younger. But I take 2 of your suggestions on the list.

Maybe I should have said just one example per rock band. You had such an effort. Sorry for thta.
