Here's a shout out to a show that I used to watch every morning before school as a little boy: Captain Kangaroo. This was before Sesame Street was ever created and was about the closest thing there was to educational television for children.

I loved watching the Captain and Mr. Green Jeans and Mr. Moose and Bunny Rabbit and the Dancing Bear! The show aired from 1955 to 1992 and then evolved into The Captain's Place (and some other titles).
No, there wasn't a real kangaroo, but just the name was used.
