@Peter_pbn, Thanks, I added the title. Also, you pointed out a limitation in my search methodology, which I think was going to be imperfect no matter what, based on any list I find being incomplete.

What kind of search did you do (or search terms used) to find this title?

I just remembered it. But I couldn't find others.

@Peter_pbn IMDb doesn't have Northern Ireland as a distinct country for obvious reasons. The list I used had films shot in Northern Ireland, but it wasn't exhaustive nor did it list 'The Shore'. I tried a film location search for 'Northern Ireland' on IMDb and found two more below the 1k vote threshold. But, even that is subject to all the film location data being complete, which it is not. I think I might run an Oscar-nominated title search for the United Kingdom and go through it see it any titles jump out as being from Northern Ireland other than these ten titles.

@urbanemovies

Looking into The Shore again, I came across another nominated short, also made and set in Northern Ireland:

Boogaloo and Graham (2014)

Both films and others are available here:

@Peter_pbn

Thanks, I added the Northern Ireland short, Boogaloo and Graham (2014) to the list, as it checks all the boxes for inclusion with the toughest being OUT OF ORBIT being a Belfast-based production company.

I am still struggling to find any information for a Faraway Productions, which was a one picture production company set up in 1970s. I assume David Lean is the principal and it was set up to make Ryan's Daughter. The film checks every box, but one. I can't seem to determine whether they took Irish money (precedes Irish Screen Board) or if the company was incorporated in Ireland.

My Left Foot or The Crying Game, although if The Quiet Girl doesn't get many votes, it'll get mine: in a few years, it may rank up there with 'Left' and 'Game' for me but for now, I've just seen it too recently to know how much staying power it will have with me.

I'll suggest one tiny edit: just one comma after "bad" --

...about the Irish experience, good and bad, is your favorite one?

I really like this poll. : )

@rubyfruit76 I saw The Quiet Girl and I liked it a lot too. It certainly was a breakthrough year for the two Irish film boards and their respective film centers. I am surprised it didn't happen sooner, but wouldn't be surprised to see 6-12 Irish Oscar nominees every year going forward.

Thanks, I made the correction, I debated about the good and bad phrase, but felt strongly it was important to leave in.
