In 2024, BAFTA pollsters asked over four thousand players from around the world to rank video game characters they thought were the most iconic of all-time, with the resulting top twenty being honored at that year's 20th BAFTA Games Awards. As of 2026, thirteen of the top twenty have debuted a film, television, streaming, or multiple adaptations.
