Four do not belong on this list because there is a difference between a prison from a P.O.W. camp and an insane asylum.
Insane asylum - “Shutter Island”. I had to read the book for book club. It is an insane asylum for the extremely mentally sick.
P.O.W. camps war films are: “Stalag 17” (based on a play that was based on true life memories of P.o.w. Camps), “The Great Escape” (based on a true story), “The Bridge on The River Kwai” (another true story).
I don’t know about “A Man Escaped” but I suspect it is about ether a concentration death camp or a P.o.w. Camp which both are not prisons.
