@Aris_Athanas,

FYC, there is more than one award show giving awards for Best Adapted Screenplay, you may want to specify which one. ie Oscar-Nominated Best Adapted Screenplay Sequels or another variation you like.

@Aris_Athanas,

FYC, I think your answer pool list maybe incomplete.These sequels were nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay and are not listed. The first two are definite inclusions and the third one is a judgment call, that I detailed my thoughts on. I listed the recaps from wikipedia.

After the Thin Man is a 1936 American murder mystery comedy film directed by W. S. Van Dyke and starring William PowellMyrna Loy and James Stewart. A sequel to the 1934 feature The Thin Man, the film presents Powell and Loy as Dashiell Hammett's characters Nick and Nora Charles. The film was nominated for the Adapted Screenplay Oscar in 1937.

The Color of Money is a 1986 American sports drama film directed by Martin Scorsese and released by Touchstone Pictures. The film was created from a screenplay by Richard Price, based on the 1984 novel of the same name by Walter Tevis. A sequel to the 1961 feature, The Hustler. The film was nominated for the Adapted Screenplay Oscar in 1987.

The Silence of the Lambs is a 1991 American psychological horror film directed by Jonathan Demme and written by Ted Tally, adapted from Thomas Harris's 1988 novel. The film won the Adapted Screenplay Oscar in 1992.

sequelHannibal, was released in 2001, followed by two prequel films Red Dragon (2002) and Hannibal Rising (2007). However, its official sequel film, Red Dragon (2002) is based on the same book as the Manhunter film released in 1986 and has some of the same characters. That makes Red Dragon a remake and Silence of the Lambs a sequel, in my humble opinion. But others disagree, since it was made by a different production company and cast with different actors.

Manhunter is a 1986 American thriller film directed and written by Michael Mann. Based on the 1981 novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, it stars William Petersen as FBI profiler Will Graham. Also featured are Tom Noonan as serial killer Francis DollarhydeDennis Farina as Graham's FBI superior Jack Crawford, and Brian Cox as incarcerated killer Hannibal Lecktor.

@Aris_Athanas, Thanks. I think those three other changes were the most important ones. I think I am in the minority on Silence of the Lamps, so I understand your call on that one.

I would update the poll thread title and question too. So, they match and it is easier for others to find them when doing a search. Adding the term, Oscar-nominated will also get your poll suggestion more relevant hits and more interest when someone searches online too.
