Poll Suggestion: Harakiri Movies

Seppuku or harakiri ("abdomen/belly cutting" in Japanese) is a form of Japanese ritual suicide by disembowelment.

It was originally reserved for samurai in their code of honor but was also practiced by Japanese officers near the end of World War II to restore honor for themselves or for their families.

As a samurai practice, seppuku was used voluntarily by samurai to die with honor rather than fall into the hands of their enemies.

The movies indexed below show at some moment a seppuku ritual or harakiri.

@mariojacobs,

This question really could be about anything. Personally, I think a question should be able to stand on its own and not require any explanation or further reading. Plus, a lot of poll takers like to skip the introduction and go straight to the question. If you phrase the question so it makes it hard for them to answer it, they are likely to just click out of your poll and move onto another that is easier to navigate or doesn't require as much work.

Which is your favorite movie?

@mariojacobs FYC, the title, Seppuku or Harakiri makes me think it is going to be face-off over which term I prefer or to other people who think they are two different things.
