Poll Suggestion: Most Bizarre but Artful Depiction of Sex in Movies

Intro:

Since the end of the 1960s, sexual liberation showed it's face in many movies that are not actual porn. Some of these productions have bizarre settings or scenes, a few people would sure deny to watch. But even highly acclaimed directors made movies with a sexual context which are able to confuse the audience. Please notice: This is not centered on LGBTQ... It's more about the often bizarre, but artful filming of sexuality.Which of these movies with bizarre sex scenes or sequences would you most likely try to watch? (If you have already seen it, which one is your favorite?) Discuss here.

Basic Rules (enhanceable):

This is not only about sex scenes or sequences. The content should be depicted in a bizarre way or context. No movies rated below 5.5/10. No animes, but other animated movies. This is not about LGBTQ...xzy bashing.

Edited the Intro a little:
"Which of these movies contains the most bizarre sex scene? (If you haven't seen one of it, which of these movies would you most likely try?)"

Antichrist is the only thing that comes to mind. Unfortunately it will not leave :(

Thank you for suggesting. But ...
... no, because none of the scenes in any movie of Lars von Trier is a consequence of sexual liberation, the sex scenes he puts in are just a consequence of the psychological deceases of the characters he uses. It has clearly nothing in it like a consequence of sexual liberation the Hippies proclaimed in the late 1960s.

I ver much second Crash (1996). Many David Cronenberg movies are eligible, but this one is unique even for him.

You should specify for A Clockwork Orange that you're referring to the William Tell's Overture scene... in fact, when it comes to these polls, you've got to describe the scene (without graphic details)... it's not just about the fact that voters will know but you can grab the curiosity of those who don't...

That's what I had in mind. Surely not the rape or the murder scenes. maybe the ending scene when Alex is back again and "reputated".

Ok, guys. Sorry for answering so late. I'm still in a late phase of renovating our flat. I've got terrible cuts in my life and it will last until the end of next week.

I'm willing to put the suggestions you made on the list. It would be nice, if you gave me a describing line of the scene you like to mention. When it comes to a movie like 'Spun', which I haven't seen, or the mentioned 'Crash' (1996, I didn't see it either), it's more easy for me to present a description. Because it's more easy to describe a scene, when I can connect it in view to the whole story.

Breu,it will be a bit difficult to summarize and remember it, but this would be my line for Crash: a scene of penetration through a wound and the strange sexual behaviors of the characters.

joe siegel just the fact that this movie is about a group of people who are sexually attracted to car crashes speaks volumes.

Oh yes, something ironic like "The premise says it all" would also be fine

Thank you, Joe and Nikolay. :D
Now I have a better image of the movie since I haven't seen it. I guess it's a good example. Wrote it down. I'm just watching 'Secretary', because of having time for it. Somehow funny, but also strange. She's lovely. Hope she'll be happy when it ends. But he seems to be a real sc*mbag ;)

Breumaster, you should definitely see Crash (1996), because...
Although in this case the description is purely fitting for subject of the movie, as production values are very much great (which also makes for a weird movies, as usually something with a premise like that has a hard time securing any budget).

Updated it. I also throw away some unfitting movies like 'The Greasy Strangler'. I can't state the idea exact, but some of this movies felt wrong on this list. 'Crash' is also the borderline from the point I know right now. It's sounds strange and pervert, like also a psychological disease. I denied von Trier, because he always shows real hateable scenes which have nothing in common with free sexuality. I guess I will have to watch the movie to decide of letting that option stay.

Nikolay,

Breumaster Crash is still very much artful, though, in my humble opinion it fits poll's purpose to a "t".

8.9K Messages

"t"? What are you writing about? I let the movies stay on the list as long as I don't have the feeling, they don't fit to the idea. There are a few more options to go. ;) Badly I haven't seen most of them.

Breumaster, my bad, I should've written it as either "to a T" or "to a tee". It's a semi-common expression in English. It's hard to say why I decided to use it. :)

'Crash' ... what should I say? These are really sick people. I was tempted to throw it out of the player, because how can someone involve somebody else into an instant car crash? What grown ups do in common for their enlightment, is the one thing. But involving other people from the street is another thing. But I guess I got Cronenberg right, when I understand his movie as a satire on people in general, who fall into decadence beyond any measure. So it's ok, when it's on the list. It's more like a critic on free sex. Why not? I'm not prude, but sure also no censor.

'Monster's Ball' ... Nice movie. I like the drama. And the middle part. Never saw Mrs. Berry in another role like that. The conclusion was the best, the most fitting end! That sure stays on the list.

Breumaster, I'd say Cronenberg's movies are never that simple to be just literal: there's always an additional layer to it, no matter if the movie is dream-like and surreal like some of his earlier works or flashed-out and realistic like some of the more recent. I always perceived Crash (1996) as more of a dream-like movie, to be honest: it's a powerful message of people repressing their feelings and emotions to such a level that a literal car crash is required to get them out. An extreme measure for extreme boredom and lack of proper way to feel. Movie feels like something you might have a dream about but can't just shrug off and can't help but at least think about doing something like that.

Oh and I removed your duplicate comment. ;)

I just checked it on the database, but is this true? Were there any accusations about? I wonder that it is FSK16 in G, if that rumors fit. Did the actress comment anything about it?
