I started searching random names and found several others with a higher average than 60, so I think your source is incomplete.

Catherine Deneuve, 69

Mahershala Ali, 67

Isabelle Huppert, 64

Danny Glover, 62

Thank you, and yes, it was highly probable that the source was incomplete.

1) It is 3 years old.

2) I didn't find any other more recent source.

3) These websites only analyze a couple of movies.

I'm gonna try to have better results, but it is never gonna be good.

The list is probably gonna exceed 35 options for a short period of time, I'm gonna check the top 5000 myself to complete the list.

I really like the idea but I'd suggest noting in the intro that the scores reflect Metacritic's scores of their movies and not their performances.

Also, if you know that the list is going to be incomplete (which makes sense that it will be if Metacritic doesn't compile an exhaustive list), I'd definitely make note of that, too. Something like "Below are some of the actors whose movies averaged a Metacritic score of above 60" would work.

FYC:

Warren Beatty 65
Robert Redford 63
Denzel Washington 61

I'd suggest making some exclusion criteria based on the length of the careers and/or number of movies with significant roles. I love Julia Garner but there's no comparing her filmography, simply because of her age, with Jack Nicholson's, for example. Some of the ones at the bottom of the list, in particular, have relatively short careers with mostly small roles: for example, Garner, Lily James, Margot Robbie, and Karen Gillan. Actors with relatively few movies can easily have artificially high scores.

By the way, bravo for doing the work and compiling what's a very good list.

Oh, and I thought I'd make a note of actors who people would likely look for but who, surprisingly, don't quite make the grade: Kate Winslet, Julianne Moore, Sean Penn, Annette Bening, Viola Davis, and Diane Keaton are all very close (57-59) but, as of right now, don't qualify.

That also reminds me that I'd suggest noting the date the list was compiled because the score would be constantly changing. For example:

"Below are some of the actors whose movies, as of May 2020, averaged a Metacritic score of above 60."

Thank you, I'm gonna revise the criteria for eligibility. As I said, for a few days, the list is gonna look awkward, but I need the average Metacritic score for as many actors as I can before writing more precise rules.

I found a few more*:

Lupita Nyong'o 73 (wow)
Ryan Gosling 64
Saoirse Ronan 64
Gael Garcia Bernal 63
Rooney Mara 62
Mark Ruffalo 61
Joaquin Phoenix 61 (or is he already on the list?)

Michael Keaton 60 (if you're doing 60 and above instead of above 60)
Chadwick Boseman 60 ( "       " )

And a few more who, again, somewhat surprisingly, didn't quite make it: Emma Stone, Michael B. Jordon, Helen Mirren, Glenn Close, Rachel Weisz, Willem Dafoe, Amy Adams, Woody Harrelson

* I only looked for actors who are still living.

I have been testing rules, to exclude younger actors with very volatile resumes
I have come to a satisfying result. :)

There it is: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls098171115/

Only a test for now, if everyone is happy with this list, I will replace the previous one.

1)  "Another poll you should not tackle."
This was your first sentence when you came to this post, I feel that I remained insanely calm, I even responded to your provocation in the most polite way that I could have imagined.

2) "All the actors you have now removed shall be on my second poll suggestion with the same parameters assigned in my first poll."
WOW. I mean you are really toxic, you want that hard to compete. Here you are basically trying to rip-off my idea.

3) "Comparing or listing Clint Eastwood and Saoirise Ronan in the same poll is absurd."
Her first name is "Saoirse" not "Saoirise". Plus, there is no problem to list them both in a poll.

4) "By the way your satisfying result is to steal everything on my list almost. "
These people fit my criteria, you didn't want to share them with me because you are a selfish competitive boomer. My poll suggestion and my list were created before you did, I stole nothing. You are the selfish troll who keeps harassing me without any reason.

I don't see what I did wrong. Those actors fitted my poll suggestion and were popular there was no reason to exclude them.

Don't worry too much both of You, when you are suggesting polls about the same topic there is necessarily some shared choices. As long as you both have a different question and a clear criteria both are valid suggestions and both can be published.

Cinephile indeed gave his OK to your suggestion Ed, and without all the new actors (which due to Metacritic having only partial information on classics are a majority) your poll is different enough, and is able to include several great actors that due to the limit on reviews will never be in Cinephile's poll.

Your investigation also make him find some actors he had left out and that fit his criteria and that way you helped in both polls, its allright for them to be in both places, and no one will think twice about it when considering the poll or voting on them.

This is a fun research, I had no idea Metascore gave average career scores for actors.

FYC: Albert Brooks - 67 with 24 reviewed movies.
Chris Cooper - 66, with 40 movie reviews
Ricardo Darín - 73 with 10 movie reviews
Sally Hawkins - 70 with 20 movie reviews
Maggie Cheung - 74 with 10 movie reviews.

Ricardo Darin, Maggie Cheung, and Albert Brooks are not really popular so I left them out.

I included Sally Hawkins, Chris Cooper, and Elizabeth Taylor.

Brooks is in the Starmeter top 5,000, and an Oscar nominee not long ago.

I set the career length at 20 years, deleted Tom Hardy, Mahershala Ali and Carey Mulligan and added Albert Brooks.

I have a few more names, but if it is supposed to be a list of the actors with the highest average ratings I think you need more systematic research.

Frances McDormand

Juliette Binoche

Mark Hamill with a 63 average career score, missed the list by two points.

Kirsten Dunst with a 61 average career score, missed the list by four points.

Tom Hiddleston with a 68 average career score, I added him to a list about more younger actors.

Honorable mention: Alison Pill, she has a 62 average score, she missed the list by 3 points.

I have finally finished checking the average score of the 500 most popular actors, I took me 8 hours on yesterday and today, but it is only 1/10 of what I want to do.

It is quite disappointing that in 8 hours I only found 2 actors missing to the list.

I'm pretty confident that the poll is ready now. I didn't find any actors to add to the list.

However, I found a lot of younger actors whose where excluded by the career length criteria, I'm gonna post this poll suggestion on these rising stars very soon.
