I don't think the question, title and answer pool match or at least see the potential for problems. There is one listed Canadian celebrity who has never even lived in Hawaii listed, as far as I can tell, so it is hard to say they are from Hawaii, or at the very least it is a stretch, when the claim is based on a parent. Plus, I am not even sure what "from" means or entails for that matter. I think a better word could be used instead.
Which of these actors from Hawaii is your favorite?
"Which of these actors with Hawaiian ancestry is your favorite?" or the more ambitious and broader version, "Which of these actors with Hawaiian roots is your favorite?" might be better questions to ask.
Depending, on how you ask the (roots vs ancestry) question, I would include or not include the listed Bette Midler, Don Stroud, Kelly Preston, as well as, the unlisted: Timothy Olyphant, Barack Obama, Nicole Kidman, Lauren Graham, Amanda Schull, Bruno Mars and Sasha Barrese among others.
FYC (born, raised, and heritage): Sydney Agudong, Don Ho, Duke Kahanamoku
You are likely suggesting this for AAAPI Heritage Month in May. But, I will point out these notable 125th and 130th Hawaiian History anniversaries in 2023, although I don't think they should be celebrated, only acknowledged.
There seem to quite a few famous white native Hawaiians, that were born and partly raised there.
The only tricky one for me is Keanu Reeves, aside from having mixed Hawaiian heritage and being born in Beruit, and raised in Toronto, Canada, he doesn't seem to have any sustained links to Hawaii. He seems to have multiple rumored houses all over the place, including Hawaii (not confirmed, but lots of details, so I buy the rumor, see the article below for details) So, I guess you could technically say he lives there.
