From this list, 'Little Miss Sunshine' with 'Ladybird' close behind. Oh, and 'Life of Brian,' too.
I love this poll and I think that the list is really very good but no Woody Allen? He's made an entire career of intelligent, and sometimes even quite intellectual, comedies.
FYC:
Crimes & Misdemeanors (Woody Allen)(that's the one that I think is the smartest; of course there are several others and 'Annie Hall' and 'Manhattan' are the most classic)
Oh, I just noticed "Best in Show:" that's the same director and troupe as "Waiting on Guffman" so they're already represented without "Guffman." For anyone who liked "Best in Show," though, I highly recommend "Guffman." A new movie is coming out soon, too, I think.
You're quite welcome. If you like the other films on this list, I'm guessing you'll like them, too. By the way, this is one of the great lists. For example, if someone asked me what comedies I recommend, I'd give them the link to this list. 'Really well done! : )

Just a thought, but maybe the poll could be Smartest Comedy Movie so the voters decide what they think is smart.

What sets these aside as "smart" comedies?
