Mr Kubrick's 1980 film "The Shining" is the only version of the Stephen King book, by that name, that I've seen. Saw it once in a movie theater back in 1980, and then saw it one more time on Blu-ray, back during this past winter. And after now having seen that movie 2 times, I still think that a MUCH MORE FITTING title for Kubrick's 1980 version of "The Shining" would be "The Boring"!!
Hate to be a buzzkill. But Doctor Sleep is effectively a box office bomb. Not many people have seen it yet. Taking that into consideration, it will likely be a landslide for The Shining. Not much of a face-off.
