Yeah, I noticed that too.I saw 7 Best Picture nominnes out of 9 and "Moonlight was my least favorite, it had a pretty strong first act, an extraordinary second act, but I sincerely failed to see the connection between adult Chiron and the kid/teen. I expected some emotional knock-out at the end, or just a way to come to terms with his friend and ask him why he hit him that day, but nothing, it was just "hey, where have you been?" etc. etc. Take a film like "Lion", it wasn't flawless but what an explosion of tears and happiness in the end, and all the other movies reach their emotional pinaccle at the end but "Moonlight" ended in an anticlimactic way that didn't match the emotional power of the first two acts.I'm not against a nice little twist and I hate to see politics everywhere but I'm not sure that "Moonlight" really deserved the Best Picture over "La La Land".

I actually thought they were joking until one of the La La Land producers showed the cue card with Moonlight's name on it.Seriously one of the most wacky moments of any Oscar ceremony

Moonlight showed Chiron's struggles for like 2 hours and then suddenly out of nowhere he ends up with his best friend.I was majorly dissappointed with the ending on a rewatch.La La Land while not my favorite of the bunch was much more deserving.

Exactly, I felt sad for Chazelle because it was obvious he really wanted to make not just a love-letter to Hollywood but the kind that would win the Best Picture, it was a little bit showy and overbaked but he knew how to wow the audience at the end. For me, there was something undeniable in "La La Land"s frontrunner status and I'm still puzzled by "Moonlight"'s win. Some compare it with the "Cabaret" vs. "Godfather" duel, but that would be true if "Moonlight" moved in the same circles than "The Godfather".

The third part of Moonlight was great. The diner scene was perfect.(And Lion's ending is emotional, but clichéd.)

It may be helpful to add "Face-Off" on this one.
