Yay, a documentarian poll! 'Glad you're doing this and you've got an impressive list.

Morgan Szporluk: in addition to what's highlighted, also known for "30 Days"

Spike Lee: Oh my gosh, he's so famous for everything else that I almost forgot all of his great documentaries. (American Utopia, When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts, 4 Little Girls (Oscar nominee), The Original Kings of Comedy, If God Is Willing and da Creek Don't Rise, etc.) 

Lynn Novick: not nearly as well known as Szporluk, and certainly no where near Lee, but she's at least starting to approach a few on the list; she co-created and co-directed several projects with Ken Burns (The VietNam War, The War, Baseball, etc) for several years but has been working solo a bit now, sometimes financially backed by Burns, on such documentaries as 'College Behind Bars' (excellent).

Nathaniel Kahn: also not as well-known as Szporluk & Lee but nominated for two Oscars, an numerous other awards, for documentaries

Jennie Livingston: again, also not nearly as well known as Szporluk & Lee and not very prolific at all but directed the classic 'Paris is Burning'
