Live Poll: Cannon Group Movies
The Cannon Group, Inc. was an American group of companies, including Cannon Films, which produced films from 1967 to 1994.
The company, founded and run by the Israeli cousins Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus, pumped out cheap exploitation movies at an alarming rate across the genres: sex comedies, martial arts movies, vigilante thrillers, science-fiction.
Which is your favorite Cannon Group movie?

I would have to pick Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films, a documentary, but I'm not so sure that it actually belongs on the list, since it is about Cannon movies and not necessarily by Cannon Group. So, otherwise, I would probably go with Masters of the Universe, simply on account of the performances by Frank Langella and James Tolkan, along with Meg Foster's eyes. The movie is not terrible, but it had enough production limitations to cause certain creative changes which invariably caused it to fail at the box office. Most of the fans of the toy line He-Man and the Masters of the Universe felt that none of the story should have been set on earth or at least more of Eternia should've been visited. The titling of the movie was also problematic, because casual fans and outsiders may not have realized that it was He-Man movie. Small few of the elements of the movie content come off as ripoffs of the concepts from the Star Wars original trilogy, like how Skeletor's android troops have armor and weapons similar to Imperial stormtroopers, or like how Skeletor, a hooded character, being able to project lightning from his hand similar to the Emperor, also a hooded character. While Dolph Lundgren's accent is unsavory, all of the acting is satisfactory. The music score is fantastic. The costume designs are satisfactory. The set designs are satisfactory. The only thing going against the designs would be the low production value, as all that stuff could've stood to be more real-looking with the same shapes, patterns and colors.

@mariojacobs,
The use of the phrase "at an alarming rate" seems very judgemental. Isn't it the goal of every production company is to make and release as many profitable films as possible. Plus, the company's successful business strategy was geared to focusing on the underserved "B" movie market, by churning out lots of low budget films or capitalizing on popular cultural and entertainment trends of the day. This niche marketing strategy seems to have worked, based on their dominance in the industry and the number of successful film series they produced in the 1980s, IMHO.
Plus, I think you are confusing the history of Cannon Films with that of the Cannon Group, Inc. There are movies that are part of your answer pool that were not made during the Cannon Group time frame, even though the Cannon Group acquired the rights to them after the Globus cousins bought the company. As the poll suggestion is phrased now, I would question their inclusion. As it doesn't seem right to claim it is a product of the Cannon Groups' efforts, if they were made before the Cannon Group company even existed.
