She has a lot of talent at directing, but it doesn't prove critics wrong concerning her acting. I have never seen her giving a good performance in a film.

There are as many directors who can't act as actors who can't director. It is pretty hard to be good at both. Of course, you could cite Clint Eastwood, Laurence Oliver, Orson Welles, Warren Betty, Robert Redford, Woody Allen, Charles Chaplin, and Kenneth Branagh, but, those are exceptions.

My point was about nepotism critics and not just about her acting. I have re-worded the text a little for the same. Hope it is OK now! 🙂

BTW, all exceptions you have listed are in a league of their own and there is no comparison.

Of the items on the list, I've only seen The Virgin Suicides, Marie Antoinette and Somewhere. They're all interesting and show much strength in aesthetics. The only one that I've seen more than once is The Virgin Suicides, so maybe I would pick that one, but honestly I didn't quite understand it (apart from it being intentionally a mystery) and found it to be unpleasant and manipulative. I don't know how historically accurate Marie Antoinette is, but I thought there is a nice touch in that the final events of the movie take place before the violent demise of the king, his consort and inner circle. Comparatively, Somewhere oddly seems to be the closest to my cup of tea, though.

Yay, 'so glad she's getting a poll. : ) Although I like most of her films (not 'Bling Ring' so much, though), 'Lost in Translation' is in my top 25 of all movies so it will get my vote.

May I suggest a few very small edits? (in bold below)
