I guess it will be the new Final Destination. It was pretty cool. Till now, I liked it best. The worst was War of the Worlds - rubish! I'm curious about:
M3gan 2.0
The Ugly Stepsister
Five Nights at Freddies 2
Black Phone 2
Conjuring 4
Together
Bring Her Back
The George
28 Years Later ... and ...
Weapons
I'm not sure. I saw 'Sinners' today and technically it's way better. It has some interesting effects in cinematography, which lifts it far over all other productions. The format change was hard each time shifting between 21:9 and 16:9 and back, but in the endfight they slightly pulled up the curtain and let the format-change flow, which was pretty intelligent to tell the people: Now it becomes really serious. I understand it got the cinematography Oscar. They really deserved it.
I must admit that vampire stories became a little boring over the decades. In that case it was a kind of fresh air. The idea is a hard competitor to 'Weapons'. I think the time they've set the story is very interesting, also the space, the black people's dance-pub. The whole setting looked very authentic. I see it was way more Effort than in 'Weapons'.
I guess there will a few movies voted to the top of the list, while there are many which can only lose.
Now I want to be a little rude: Are you serious to put 'War of the Worlds' in competition with 'Sinners'? 'War of the Worlds' was the worst movie I've seen for a pretty long time. I skipped it after an hour because I couldn't abide this bs anymore. That's torture.
@Breumaster what are you talking about, War of the Worlds is the best movie of 2025. Nah I am kidding. I deleted it because it's not labelled as horror by the IMDb
