Live Poll: Fr. Detectives

Yes, all these detectives are priests, rabbis, mullahs, Buddhist monks, and extra which makes it kind of fitting since both occupations share so many things in common. Both fight evil, save lives (and souls), have mysteries, try to set things right and hear confessions. Who is your favorite?

Discuss (or confess) your questions of detective mystery solving faith here.

But seriously . William of Baskerville. ... Baskerville. Where have I heard that name before? Hmm! Do I detect an homage from the Italian writer, Umberto Eco, to honor the British writer's, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creation - Sherlock Holmes?

You could expand it a tiny bit to include any member of the clergy.

FYC:
Father Dowling and Sister Steve from Father Dowling Mysteries
Don Matteo from Don Matteo
Nicholas from The Reckoning
Mateo Vázquez from La conjura de El Escorial

There are two different TV Father Browns and one movie Father Brown...not sure if you'd want to list them separately or together.

@jen_264364

redoing the poll. Got all on except Mateo Vázquez from La conjura de El Escorial.

”The reckoning” had an English version made and I got Paul Britany as Nicholas. And that movie version of  Fr. Brown, The Detective (1954) was none other than Alex Guinness,

I completely forgot about Father Dowling and I use to watch that show. Banging head against wall.
Of course it is all members of the clergy. I just wanted to keep the description short. But it is amended. All are added.
Of course I'll check on all the Fr. Browns, but remember that this one is a character poll. So it two of them are the same character. Only one entry. Besides, I like how Mark Williams played him. He brought a little Arthur Weasley to it.

Sorry that had to wait since I had to wait for a character page to get active. Also I had remembered some more. "I Confess", "The Rosery Murders" and "True Confessions". I'm really mad that I didn't first remember Father Frank Koeller (Donald Sutherland) from "The Rosery Murders" because every time I think of him, I remember that role. He really owned it in a good mystery but ok movie. Like I said DS was that good in the role while others in the movie were not.
I will look into the list

Dgranger, I guess this used to be a characters list. If you're still interested in the suggestion you need to make a new image list.

I just expanded this because I just realized I had accidentally limited down to the christian religion which was never my intention. I’m sorry if anyone was offended.
now my biggest worry is getting the religious titles right.

You're going to need to reword your suggestion. Rabbis are priests. It's best not to upset large swaths of people with this oversimplification.

@Tsarstepan I thought I did do that when I added “And all faiths are considered in this poll no matter the title.” That was the specific intention when I wrote that. But now it see I have to change that to make it clearer.
