I'm not suggesting that it's intentional but it's just as important: the title and the intro refer to women as objects by equating them with objects.

Blimey. I didn't think pin-up would be a matter of controversy.

Being a pin-up to me just refers to being on a poster as a means of admiration, adoration or attraction.

Instead of U.S. Sitcom Pin-Up, I could rename to be U.S. Sitcom Belle

I could also add to the description,  who wins your award for beauty or admiration?

Or I can just delete any of the pin-up lists I've done? I don't want to offend anyone.

Thanks for sharing your concerns :)

@Stubey  Thank you, Stubey, for your nice response.

I understand that to you, "pin-up" refers to being on a poster -- that's what I meant when I said that I'm not suggesting that it's intentional. The problem is that language doesn't convey the intentions behind the words: it conveys only the actual meaning of the words themselves. In this case, the words themselves equate "who" not with being on a poster but with being a poster.

I really appreciate and respect that you were receptive to my comment. I think that's both open-minded and kind. : )

Btw, speaking of language, I've always loved the word "blimey." I find a lot of British expressions so much more charming than their American counterparts.

I live in the States so I usually don't get to hear words such as "blimey" unless I'm talking to one of my friends from the UK or watching Wallace & Gromit, lol.

Thank you rubyfruit76. Not at all, always happy to take on feedback.

I've altered all my pin-up list names to say belle instead. Hopefully that alleviates your worries.

I'll rename the messageboard titles the next time I get a chance.

Also, love your reaction to blimey :)
